Why we built this
The hiring market is a mess. Job seekers send hundreds of applications into automated black holes and hear nothing. Recruiters pay thousands of dollars for databases full of people who haven't looked for a job in three years.
We built Boba to fix the signal problem on both sides. Every candidate in our pool is there because they chose to be, they filled out a full profile, set their salary expectations, and said “yes, I'm looking right now.” Every recruiter on the platform is there because they want to hire, not just browse.
The result is a direct line between people who are ready to move and companies that are ready to hire. No intermediaries. No noise. No wasted time.
How it's different
Most job boards are built around job postings. We're built around people. Candidates don't apply to anything, they create one profile and get found. Recruiters don't post jobs, they search, filter, and reach out directly.
Our role taxonomy goes deeper than any other platform. We don't just categorize people as “Software Engineer.” We classify specializations: Frontend-heavy, Backend-heavy, LLM-focused ML, NLP-focused ML, and dozens more. That precision means when a recruiter searches for exactly who they need, they actually find that person.
Who we are
We're a small team that has been on both sides of the hiring table, laid off, burnt out from job searching, and frustrated by the recruiter tools available. We built the platform we wished existed.
